Beacon of ICT Awards/Lectures also known as BoICT Awards is an annual ICT awards recognizing organizations’ or individuals’ contributions to ICT development in Nigeria.
BoICT Awards/Lectures is organized by Communication Week Media Limited, a certified global ICT company with over 20 million subscribers and publishers of Nigeria CommunicationsWeek.
The BoICT Distinguished Lecture Series is aimed at charting ways forward for the ICT industry.
The event is widely regarded as the most prestigious annual event available in the ICT industry in Nigeria.
This year the theme is “Impact of Blockchain Technology in a Digitalized Nigeria,” and it leans heavily on the potential of Blockchain technology to disrupt digital interaction in our economy and society.

The technology’s rapid and dynamic technical development is driven by startups and incumbents alike, creating a myriad of applications across economic and societal domains.

Past keynote lecturers include: Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, then executive vice-chairman, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC); Engr. Yomi Bolarinwa, former Director-General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Dr. Jean Luc Fort, CEO at OR System France and a specialist in Counterparty Risk; and Professor Chris Nwagboso, Chairman, Knowledge Factory International, United Kingdom.

Others are: Uche Orji, managing director/chief executive officer, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA); Biodun Omoniyi, Managing Director/CEO, VDT Communications; Ayotunde Coker, Managing Director, Rack Centre Limited; Peter Adedayo Arogundade, managing director and chief executive officer, Sidmach Technologies Nigeria Limited; and John Obaro, CEO and founder of Systemspecs; Dr. Isa Pantanmi, former DG, NITDA; Dr. Obadare Peter Adewale, co-founder and COO, Digital Encode Limited; among others.

The awards on the other hands reward best practices and recognize outstanding contributions to the growth of ICT.
The awards are FREE and awardees are chosen by readers of Nigeria CommunicationsWeek through a transparent voting process overseen by our award committee.
